This week I'm grateful for ... time alone

Wine, chocolate, cheese and other goodness ... all mine
this weekend.

This week I'm grateful for time alone. After months and months of being almost in each other's pockets - very rare for us - husband Paul and I will be apart for the weekend. And I will be on days off from work.
Now, I do love him. But ... WOOOOHOOOOO!
It's more that I enjoy time alone than I enjoy getting rid of him, for the record.
Because for the next few days I will have no demands on my time. And I won't have to share:

  • the bed
  • the Tim Tams
  • the DVD player (no freaking Avatar this weekend!)
  • the computer
  • the stereo

And I can indulge, largely uninterrupted, in:

  • trashy books
  • trashy DVDs
  • trashy food (except for chocolate. With him far away from the fridge, I can afford the good stuff)
  • sleep
  • long hours on the internet/twitter
  • a kitchen that will stay clean
  • a house that will stay tidy

What are you grateful for this week?

This post has been part of the lovely Maxabella Loves 'Grateful' link-up.

  1. Oh how I long for some time alone! My partner watches Avatar every second day, so I feel your pain there ;)

  2. Oooooh I will admit I am very jealous! I find myself looking into little getaway's more and more recently. I haven't been on a holiday since...well i was 12? So i think Mr Black would not be very happy if i brought up the idea of that however.

  3. Sounds divine. Absolutely divine.

  4. as soon as I read the title of your post I pictured wine and cheese and there they are waiting for me as the image in this post. And with a block of chocolate, no less. Enjoy xo

  5. TOTALLY get this, Emma!

My husband was away for 2 weeks recently. His first O/S work trip in a long time. I really loved the time to myself. Some nights it was eggs for dinner. Excellent.

  6. Oh wow this sounds like a perfect weekend. You had me at "Tim Tams".

Sometimes it feels soooooo good to just be alone and not have to negotiate for the remote and end up watching half a football game. Yawn.

Enjoy your weekend of indulgence! xxx

  7. Do you really want alone time or can I pop over and share the wine and tim tams?! YUM!

Haha - I so get what you mean - I love my me time (it's very rare these days). Enjoy!

  8. Time alone is wonderful sometimes. Your weekend sounds like bliss.

  9. Sounds like you've got a lovely 'trashy' weekend planned! Enjoy. xx

  10. I so love time alone. Don't get enough of it, but when I do a long, hot bubble bath, chocolate and sex & the city repeats, or a good book do the job.
Enjoy this weekend to the fullest x

  11. Oh yes, I can totally relate to that. Even tonight, I have two kids tucked up in bed and hubby is off to a work-related dinner! It's heaven! :)

  12. Haha, I love your honesty, it is just fab when they're away for a bit! Enjoy being Queen of your domain! :)

  13. Sounds good to me! love a bit of time on my own, although its a rarity these days with two little ones! enjoy it! x

  14. That sounds heavenly! Enjoy every second of it.
(ps. I must be one of the only people in the world to have not seen Avatar yet!). xx

  15. Hope you had a great, relaxing weekend
