I used to have a dress just like these ones when I was about 10, only mine had sleeves and a way-cool belt with a kind of snap-in buckle. How I loved that dress.
(Apologies for the awful window reflections.)
Are you officially old when you see fashions come round the second time?
Once again, linking up with the amazing Trish from My Little Drummer Boys (check her blog and you'll see why she's amazing) for Wordless Wednesday again. Thanks Trish!
In manworld, bigger is better. Apparently. So when we went to buy a chest of drawers for the baby's room, Paul was adamant we have the biggest one in the shop. He was very pleased with this decision.
Until we got the thing home, and he almost broke his back - and his spirit - trying to get the thing up the stairs, past the protruding meter box, through the door, into the house and down the hall to the right room.
Do they never learn?
It's Wednesday, so once again I'm joining in with (the currently road-tripping)Trish from My Little Drummer Boys for Wordless Wednesday. And, once again, it's not entirely wordless.
Mr Desert Rambler actually did some desert rambling a little while ago, when he headed off for a prospecting trip. And got rained in and had to spend an entire week miles from anywhere - fancy that happening in the desert! (And yes, I will post about his adventure, some time). Anyway, much to my surprise, he prospected up these items:
He was overjoyed. Because the biggest piece was his first ever real find, it was very special to him. So he wanted it to be worn by someone very special to him. Me. I was touched. Cue the purchase a gold chain (on sale, thank god!), taking nugget no.1 to the nugget people to be fitted to a hook, and me being 'encouraged' to affix it around my neck at every opportunity. So, the finished product:
Do you have an item of jewellery of significant personal value? Have you ever had a man advise you on accessories?
I have wished, on many, many, occasions, that this was a wordless topic. But sadly it's not. My husband talks about it endlessly. Over and over again. The topic is bowhunting.
Anyway, he had a fellow bowhunter visiting on the weekend and while it's really not my thing, it reminded me how beautiful and well crafted these bows are. Both of Paul's were handmade by Queensland bowyers.
I have had enough of winter. It's not fun anymore. So I've dug up this photo I took a few years ago while on a summer holiday. When it was, you know, warm.
I'm joining in Wordless Wednesday with Trish from My Little Drummer Boys. Head on over for some great pics.
Nothing compares to old friendships. Last week I got the chance to catch up with my best friend from high school, who I hadn't seen since 2006. It was the highlight of a pretty special week.
Here we are in 1994 (or maybe it was 1995?). Amanda is back row, far right, and I am front row, far right.
Back in the day: My friends and I at a birthday party. Clearly we didn't
have Facebook to teach us how to, ahem, 'pose' like today's teenagers.
An interesting side note is that for much of our high school years the guy right at the back was besotted with the girl on far left in the front row. They are now married, and have beautiful a little family.
Linking up again with Trish's Wordless Wednesday at My Little Drummer Boys. Thanks Trish!
Welcome to my first, official Wordless Wednesday. I'm kicking off with a 'Water' slideshow, which is a collection of pics I've taken at some of the beautiful Australian beaches and waterways I've been lucky enough to visit.
Oh, and it's not 100 per cent wordless - I've put it to one of my favourite KT Tunstall songs, The Other Side Of The World.
Like the idea of Wordless Wednesday? (Or just glad I've shut up for a bit?) Well, you can find more Wordless Wednesday over at My Little Drummer Boys.
Hope you enjoy!
PS I was too slack to caption the pics, but if you want to know where any of them where taken, just ask.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on this post! You can leave a comment below or send me an email. Thanks!
